I really like it when new versions of old favourites arrive! Louis Poulsen, the maker of a large number of design classic lamps, has released a new version of the Verner Panton-designed lamp Panthella. The new version is cordless and it is simply called Panthella Portable.
Jag tycker verkligen om när det kommer nya versioner av gamla favoriter! Louis Poulsen, tillverkaren av massor av klassiska designlampor, har släppt en ny version av Verner Panton-lampan Panthella. Den nya versionen är sladdlös och heter helt enkelt Panthella Portable.
The Panthella Portable is a smaller version of the existing Panthellas – the floor lamp, the table lamp and the Panthella Mini. The Panthella Portable has the same great design of the original versions, that the entire lamp is a reflector, both the head of the lamp and the base. What is new is what is not there – the cord. The new version is cordless and rechargeable, in other words portable. 
Panthella Portable är en mindre version av de lampor som redan finns i serien – golvlampan, bordslampan och Panthella Mini. Den nya versionen har samma fantastiska design som originalen, där hela lampan är en reflektor, både huvuddelen på lampan och foten. Det nya är det som saknas – sladden. Den nya Panthella Portable är sladdlös och uppladdningsbar, portabel med andra ord. 
The Panthella Portable can be run at full strength for five hours, but it can be dimmed at three levels so it could probably last longer than that. It is recharged with a regulator USB-cable, which makes it uncomplicated. The new version seems to keep the qualities of the original with the downward facing light that is lightly dispersed upward through the transparent opal shade. Those qualities are what matters, because cordless or not, a good lamp must produce good light. And the Panthella Portable really does that, without the restraints of a cord. 
Panthella Portable kan lysande full styrka i fem timmar men kan dimmas i tre steg, så den borde kunna räcka längre än så. Den laddas med en vanlig USB-sladd, vilket gör det enkelt. Den nya versionen verkar ha kvar originalet kvaliteter med det nedåtriktade ljuset som sprids mjukt genom den opalfärgade kupan. Det är de kvaliteter som är avgörande, för sladdlös eller inte, en bra lampa måste ge ett bra ljus. Och Panthella Portable gör verkligen det, utan de begränsningar som en sladd för med sig.
